Danang, Vietnam – Not Recommended
[Stay tuned for updates H] Danang, a city split between the serene My Khe Beach and the bustling urban area. Our first night was spent near My Khe, where the waves are powerful, the seawater is crystal clear, and the sand is as soft as silk. However, [laugh-cry R] it all depends on the weather…

Population distribution: The city is a melting pot of Vietnamese locals, elderly visitors from Europe and America🧓, and a significant number of Koreans. Interestingly, you’ll find almost no Chinese travelers here.

Tourist distribution: The city is divided into two main areas: My Khe Beach and the urban district. For future travelers, I highly recommend staying near My Khe. The bars and dining options there are more tourist-friendly. On the other hand, the urban area across the Han River is not ideal for tourists. It’s dirty, chaotic, and surprisingly not cheap [laugh-cry R].

Places not recommended: Ba Na Hills, Sand Dune Market (the avocado ice cream in picture 7 was [facepalm R] indescribably bad, and the owner’s attitude left much to be desired), and Thanh Chau Night Market (all the seafood is past its prime; you’ll regret not going, but you’ll regret even more if you do go).

Not recommended way to travel: Walking, walking,🚶, and more walking. In Danang, take my advice and forget about city walks [sneaky observation R]. Why? The streets are dirty, chaotic, and filled with speeding motorcycles🏍️. Traffic lights🚥 seem to be just for show [laugh-cry R].

Of course, Hoi An Ancient Town is still a gem. [Thumbs up R][Thumbs up R][Thumbs up R] After all, it’s been recommended by National Geographic [smug R].

I see what you’re saying about Da Nang not being ideal right now—weather can really make or break a beach trip. And the population mix sounds interesting but could be tricky for some travelers looking for a laid-back vibe.
I get that Da Nang has its charm, but the weather really seems hit-or-miss. It’s tough recommending a place where the experience can change so drastically depending on conditions. Plus, with the population mix you mentioned, it might not always be peaceful, even by the beach.
