[Ticket Purchase]
1⃣️ Start by downloading the Vexere app to your device.
2⃣️ On the second page, set your departure point to Hanoi, your destination to Da Nang, and pick your travel date for the bus journey.
3⃣️ On the third page, browse through the available buses and select one that suits your preferred time and budget.
I opted for a 36-seater bus from Tan Kim Chi, which departs at 7:30 PM and arrives in Da Nang around 7:00 AM the next day. The fare is 450,000 VND, making it one of the most affordable options. While the seats are not overly spacious, they are still comfortable, though you won’t be able to lie down fully.
For a more luxurious experience, there are 700,000 VND buses where you can stretch out completely, with more room and enhanced comfort.
4⃣️ On the fourth page, select your seat. It’s advisable to choose a downstairs seat on the left side to avoid stairs and enjoy a smoother ride.
5⃣️ On the fifth page, specify your boarding location.
My bus only had one boarding point: Bến xe Nước Ngầm, easily accessible from Hanoi’s Old Quarter via bus 08A or 08B, with a ticket costing just 10,000 VND.
6⃣️ On the sixth page, choose your drop-off location. My stop was Bến Xe Khách Đà Nẵng. It’s a good idea to check its location on Google Maps ahead of time and book accommodation nearby or in an area well-served by public transport.
7⃣️ On the seventh page, enter your personal details, including your name, phone number (a local number is acceptable), and email address.
8⃣️ On the eighth page, select Credit/Debit card as your payment method.
9⃣️ On the ninth page, input your international credit card information (Visa, MasterCard) and complete the transaction.
[Ticket Collection]
Head to Bến xe Nước Ngầm, go to the second floor, and locate the counter for the bus company you booked with. For me, it was counter number 67. Show the electronic ticket to the staff, and they will provide you with a paper ticket that includes the bus’s license plate number.
[Bus Ride]
1⃣️ Around 6:30 PM, the staff will guide you to the bus parking area. Make sure the license plate number on your ticket matches the one on the bus. Boarding typically starts at 7:00 PM.
2⃣️ Inside the bus, you’ll find a thin blanket and a bottle of mineral water provided for your comfort.
Each seat is equipped with USB and Type-C charging ports, and there are curtains to help you sleep better.
3⃣️ At approximately 10:00 PM, there will be a rest stop lasting about 40 minutes. During this break, I enjoyed a bowl of chicken pho for 40,000 VND.
4⃣️ There will be several more stops along the way for restroom breaks, and announcements will be made on the bus to keep you informed.
5⃣️ If you’re seated by the left window, you might catch a glimpse of the sunrise as you approach Da Nang in the morning. Unfortunately, it was cloudy during my trip, so I only saw a bit of the sunrise.
6⃣️ You will arrive at the Da Nang terminal around 7:00 AM, ready to start your day.
