Exploring Ho Chi Minh City: Day 2 Food and Sightseeing Adventures in Vietnam 🇻🇳

After getting up, I went to have a very famous brunch. I had egg coffee, pancakes, eggs Benedict, and more. The taste was great, the presentation was beautiful, the service was good, and the environment was nice. The price was less than 400 RMB, with each person spending less than 100 RMB.

I saw a barber shop nearby and got a Vietnamese haircut. It felt a bit strange right after the cut, but I’ve gotten used to it now. I’m not sure if I’ll be laughed at when I return home, so I won’t post a picture [Facepalm].

First stop – the Post Office 🏤
It’s purely for tourists to check in, to see the old postal system in Vietnam. There are a lot of postcards inside, and you can buy stamps and stick them on. It’s three stamps per postcard. I chose a local one with a little girl wearing a straw hat. I stuck the stamps on but didn’t send it; I’ll take it back to give to a friend [Party].

Many people from other countries choose to send it, but I guess if it doesn’t arrive, there’s no way to get it back [Facepalm].
After buying the postcards, I browsed the souvenir shop next door.

Second stop – Book Street
There’s a small alley next to the post office, which seems to mainly sell books.
But it’s quite popular for taking photos 📷 and hanging out…

Third stop – Pink Church ⛪️
I walked over, passing by a Starbucks on the way. I looked at the souvenir cups, a set of three small cups for a little over 100 RMB, which you can buy.
Taking photos 📷 near the pink church was quite crowded. There was a spot at a fork in the road that was good for photos, but it was also very crowded.

You had to squeeze in to take pictures. After taking some photos and looking around, I left. Since I don’t have much cultural appreciation, I didn’t have any special feelings about it [Gold Potato].

Fourth stop – Coffee Building
There’s a bookstore next to it, which you can browse.
The entrance to the coffee building is a bit run-down, like the ground floor of an old apartment building.
There’s a small elevator, which is said to be paid.
So I chose to climb the small stairs.

Each floor has various small shops. We chose one that was recommended on Little Red Book. We originally wanted to have egg coffee, but since we had it in the morning and didn’t like it much, we ordered something else. To be honest, it was pretty average, and even a glass of water was charged.

Then we went to a place selling trendy canvas bags.
It was good for taking photos, but the canvas bags weren’t worth buying as they were overpriced.

Fifth stop – Vietnamese Pho, Michelin restaurant
How could you visit Vietnam and miss out on the authentic pho experience? As we strolled through the vibrant streets and bustling markets, we discovered this hidden gem not far from our path. The food was absolutely delightful, and I highly recommend the wagyu beef set.

The flavors were truly impressive, with a rich and savory broth complemented by a variety of fresh vegetables. Watching the locals next to us, I noticed they were generously adding all sorts of condiments. Personally, I fell in love with a sauce that had a texture similar to beef paste; pairing it with crispy onion rings added a refreshing twist to each bite.

After savoring our meal, we headed to a large Uniqlo store near our hotel for some shopping. I ended up buying a few pieces of clothing, spending over 10 million VND. In hindsight, there wasn’t much need to shop here, as the same items are available back home [Disdain]. However, right next door is a Muji, which offers charming canvas bags that make perfect souvenirs.
