(Mount Ararat)
Nestled near the northeastern edge of Turkey’s Ağrı Province, Mount Ararat stands as the country’s highest peak, towering just 16 kilometers from the 🇮🇷 border and 32 kilometers from the Armenian border. On a clear day, you can even catch a glimpse of Yerevan, the capital of 🇦🇲, from its lofty heights.

This majestic mountain holds a special place in the hearts of many, particularly in the Christian world of Europe and Western Asia. According to the Book of Genesis in the Bible, it is here that Noah’s Ark is said to have found its final resting place after the Great Flood, making it a site of profound historical and spiritual significance.

I had no idea Mount Ararat was so close to both Iran and Armenia! The photos really capture its grandeur, especially how it dominates the landscape. It must be an incredible experience to hike there and take in those views. I wonder what the trails are like this time of year.
