🌄 The Huayhuash mountain range (Cordillera Huayhuash) in Peru is famous for its challenging hiking routes and pristine lakes, making it a great destination for trekking!
🏔️ The Cordillera Huayhuash is 19 miles long and 9 miles wide, with only three peaks exceeding 6,100 meters in elevation. Due to fewer visitors in Huayhuash and the potential for miles of trekking, we decided to start from south of Huaraz, slightly off the beaten path.

✈️ How to get there:
You can depart from Lima and take an 8-hour bus ride with Oltursa or MovilTours to Huaraz.

Alternatively, you can take a daily flight provided by LCPeru between the capital and Huaraz, which takes less than an hour. It is recommended to stay at least one full day in Huaraz to acclimatize to the altitude. Then, take the TurismoNazario bus from the city center to the village of Llamac (a 5-hour drive), where you will start your trek.
