Finally, the holiday has arrived~~ family!
I’m already in Penang, with lots of good food and fun. It’s the off-peak travel season, so hurry up and go~

I. Transportation
I departed from within Kuala Lumpur🛫
Firstly, I recommend choosing the train + ferry option! Not only does it ensure punctuality, but you can also enjoy more scenery along the way. The journey takes about 4 hours, and you can buy tickets in advance on the KTMB app~ (Good experience, quite punctual, highly recommended!)
Alternatively, you can choose a bus (tickets available on Redbus) or a flight✈️

2. Local transportation in Penang
Grab: In Penang, mainly rely on Grab for calling a car, which is cheap, convenient, and fast.
Bus (Rapid Penang): Cheap, and the buses in the city are quite convenient.
Renting a motorcycle/bicycle: Suitable for exploring Georgetown, but be cautious while driving.
Walking: The old town area of Georgetown is densely packed with attractions, making it very suitable for walking exploration! Walking around 20,000 steps a day👣

II. Preparations before departure (packing list)
Passport & travel documents: Ensure your passport is valid for more than 6 months, and if a visa is required, apply in advance.
Sun protection: The weather in Penang is hot, so prepare sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, and sun-protective clothing.
Light clothing: The climate is hot and humid all year round, so it’s recommended to wear breathable, light clothes such as T-shirts, shorts, and sandals.

Carry a Liushen mosquito repellent egg, which effectively repels mosquitoes for 7 hours; you can reapply it anytime👈
Payment & Internet: Malaysia primarily uses electronic payments (such as GrabPay, Touch‘n Go), so it’s advisable to bring a Visa/MasterCard credit card; purchase a local SIM card or eSIM to stay connected.
