The Ultra-Niche Perhentian Island (Pulau Perhentian) 🏝️
This hidden gem remains unspoiled by excessive commercialization, preserving its pristine and natural beauty.

🚗 Transportation: Start your journey with a scenic 1-hour flight from Kuala Lumpur airport to “Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (Kota Bharu Lapangan Terbang Sultan Ismail Petra).” From there, a comfortable 1-hour minibus ride will take you to the ferry terminal. Finally, a 45-minute boat ride across the sparkling waters will bring you to the island paradise 🏝️. The hotel booking package conveniently includes both the minibus and boat transfers.

🏠 Accommodation: The Barat
Your stay at The Barat promises a delightful experience. The staff, both at the hotel and the restaurant, are incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring you have a memorable and enjoyable stay.

🌊 Water Activities: Don’t miss out on the incredible snorkeling adventures! The underwater world is a mesmerizing spectacle of vibrant marine life and colorful coral reefs. We were particularly excited about Shark Point, but unfortunately, high waves that day made it challenging to spot any sharks, which was a bit disappointing.

However, the other snorkeling spots more than made up for it, offering stunning views and unforgettable experiences!
If you want to explore other islands or visit different bays without walking, you can hop on a sea taxi. Prices start at around 10RM per person, increasing with distance. Night rates, which typically begin after 7:30 pm, are double the daytime fare.

⚠️ Warning: While everything on the island was nearly perfect, one exception was the PIR restaurant. We found it overpriced and the food quality subpar, leaving us quite dissatisfied.

I’ve been eyeing the Perhentian Islands for ages! The way you described the journey—flight, minibus, then boat—sounds like an adventure itself. I’m sold on that untouched beauty you mentioned; it’s exactly what I’m looking for in a getaway.
The Perhentian Islands sound amazing! I love that it’s still untouched by too much commercial development. Would be perfect for a relaxing getaway, though the travel time seems a bit long. Definitely on my list now!
