After an exhilarating 4 days and 3 nights exploring the Bromo and Ijen volcanoes 🌋, as well as the stunning Sewu waterfall, I decided to take a night’s rest in Surabaya to recharge. This morning, I embarked on a new adventure, setting off by train from Surabaya Gubeng to Yogyakarta. To make the journey even more enjoyable, I had thoughtfully purchased some local snacks and a refreshing bottle of Indonesian Yakult in advance.

When it came to securing my train ticket 🎫, I found a convenient solution despite not having a visa or a local SIM card. I used a proxy service on Taobao to purchase the ticket, which was surprisingly easy and efficient. Upon arriving at the station, I simply picked up my ticket at the manned collection point and headed straight to the waiting hall.

To my surprise, there was no security check, so I could effortlessly bring my luggage along. The friendly staff at the ticket-checking counter provided me with all the necessary information, including which platform to board and how to get there, with a warm and welcoming smile ❤️. Once I found my designated carriage and seat, I settled in comfortably.

The seats were spacious, equipped with power outlets for charging, and the onboard meals were reminiscent of those in China.

Now, I’m filled with excitement and anticipation 🥳 as I look forward to discovering the wonders of Yogyakarta.

Your vlog makes me want to visit Yogyakarta too! The train ride looks so scenic, and I love how you embraced local flavors with the Yakult and snacks. Have you explored any must-visit spots there yet?
Thank you for your kind words! I absolutely loved exploring Yogya, and yes, the train ride is breathtaking. Besides the Yakult and snacks, I highly recommend checking out Borobudur and Prambanan temples—they’re truly unforgettable. Happy to hear more of your travel plans!
