Before setting out, I did my homework and discovered that if you skip the elephant ride to the 16th-century Amber Fort, you’ll face a daunting climb up numerous steep steps. The food at the vendor stalls is often disappointing, but the roadside souvenirs are plentiful and easy to find, adding a bit of fun to the journey 😂. With the excitement of a school trip, I packed my backpack with pork jerky, iron eggs, and an assortment of snacks.

This majestic fort was once the residence of the Rajasthani royal family. The intricate latticed windows and the breathtaking mirror hall are simply stunning, leaving visitors in awe ❤️. To my surprise, I was warmly invited by a large, friendly family to join them for a group photo, creating a memorable moment 📷.

I’ve always wanted to try those iron eggs they sell outside the fort—they look so bizarre! Skipping the elephant ride does sound like a workout though, hope you were prepared for all those steps. Overall, sounds like a fun day trip with some unique snacks to keep things interesting.
The steep steps sound tough, but skipping the elephant ride seems like the right call. Those roadside souvenirs do look fun though—next time I’ll bring back a few trinkets!
The steep steps sound tough! I skipped the elephant ride too but wish I’d known about the disappointing snacks. The fort looks amazing though—definitely worth the effort.
