I decided to escape for some fresh air over the weekend and explore one of France’s three must-see castles.
I had heard that the castle offers free admission on the first Sunday of each month 🏰,
but unfortunately, due to a special event scheduled from June 6th to 8th, the free day was moved to those dates.
So, my friend and I made the most of it by wandering through the enchanting nearby forest and gardens instead.
The forest was breathtakingly lush and vividly green 🌳, offering a perfect retreat into nature.
We also strolled through the charming small town, which radiated authentic French vibes, and enjoyed a delightful meal there.
To our surprise, we discovered a lovely patch of lavender—its fragrance was simply amazing and utterly adorable.
We took a moment to admire the castle’s grand exterior—it was absolutely massive—and even spotted a picturesque horse-drawn carriage passing by.
The park featured a serene lake with a striking structure at its center, and visitors were enjoying peaceful boating rides.
With the lush grass, shimmering lake, and fluffy white clouds above, the atmosphere was incredibly relaxing and utterly delightful.
We also caught sight of some adorable baby birds—whether they were geese or swans, we weren’t sure—
happily nibbling on the grass, which was an absolutely heartwarming sight 😻.
All in all, the trip was completely worthwhile and filled with memorable moments.
I’m already looking forward to returning another time to explore the castle for free [laughing]!
The forest’s greenery felt alive, a perfect escape from the usual routines. I appreciated the tip about the castle’s schedule—plan ahead to avoid missing out. Hiking there sounds like a great way to connect with nature.
The trail through the forest felt like stepping into a different world. I loved how the gardens added a quiet, magical touch to the adventure. It’s smart to plan around events that change free days.
The lush greenery of the forest felt like a hidden escape from the usual tourist paths. I appreciated the tip about the castle’s schedule change—it added a layer of spontaneity to the trip. Wandering without a plan made the experience feel more authentic.
