The D400 highway, stretching from Fethiye to Kaş and onward to Antalya, is undoubtedly one of Turkey’s most breathtaking routes. Traveling it counterclockwise offers a mesmerizing view of the Mediterranean Sea on your right, its waters shimmering in gradients of blue that feel almost otherworldly. And let’s not forget the incredible Jellyfish Sea—truly a sight to behold! [WowR][ThumbsUpR]

We opted for a hired car to explore this stunning route, with our guide leading us to highlights like Butterfly Valley and Kaputaş Beach. At Butterfly Valley, there’s no need to tackle any strenuous climbs; the car parks conveniently at the lot, and it’s just a short three-minute stroll downhill to reach the valley floor. Just be cautious while snapping photos—don’t edge too close to the cliffs, as they’re quite steep! [BlushR]

As for Kaputaş Beach, we didn’t make the trek down to the sand but instead captured a quick photo from above before heading off. If you have extra time, though, descending to the beach is well worth it for some leisurely relaxation.

What sets this road apart from others—and makes it akin to the world’s best scenic drives—is the sheer abundance of picturesque spots waiting to be discovered along the way. For this reason, driving yourself or hiring a car 🚗 is highly recommended, ensuring you don’t miss out on any of the jaw-dropping views due to a rushed itinerary.

Pro tip: The stretch between Fethiye and Kaş features a winding mountain road that might trigger motion sickness in some travelers. If you’re prone to such discomfort, remember to bring along your trusty motion sickness pills 💊.
