I’m sketching out plans for a weekend getaway to Yellowstone Park in June, and while browsing rental options on Hertz, I stumbled upon a classic convertible—listed as a Mustang convertible or similar. Let’s just say, it’s got me intrigued.

What I’m unsure about is whether cruising top-down would be practical while exploring Yellowstone. For one, I’d love to set up cameras both inside and outside the car (with an Insta360 X4 mounted externally), but that could get tricky in a convertible. Another thought weighing on me is whether driving a convertible is actually suitable—and safe—for navigating the park’s terrain and wildlife.
