Renowned for its breathtaking Cocora Valley, we were thrilled to have planned a three-day stay in this picturesque destination—a decision that allowed us to explore not only the famous sights but also lesser-known gems like La Carbonera.
If you find yourself in Salento and are drawn to nature’s beauty, I can’t stress enough how essential it is to visit La Carbonera. Without it, your journey might feel incomplete.
Interestingly, locals we spoke with shared their thoughts on the Cocora Valley, mentioning concerns about its growing number of man-made structures and increasing commercialization. For a more authentic experience, consider heading to La Carbonera. Opt for hiking—it’s all downhill, so there’s no need to worry about physical strain. Instead, you can leisurely soak in the stunning scenery around you, letting the tranquility of the landscape wash over you.
