Landed in Medellín.
I can hardly believe it.
All I knew before was that drug lords once ruled this city with an iron fist. Today, a friend brought up the Netflix series and how, at his peak, Pablo Escobar monopolized 80% of the cocaine trade in the U.S. Even crazier? The story about him burning $2 million in cash just to keep his daughter warm—mind-blowing, right? [Facepalm][Facepalm][Facepalm].
It’s not that I completely refuse to believe these tales, but seriously… I just can’t.

🌟 Hopped into a taxi bound for the famed hair salon supposedly run by his daughter 💈 (Come on, would the daughter of a drug lord really open a hair salon as a hobby?). Unfortunately, it was closed. But lucky me—the neighboring “drug lord bar” was wide open! For just 10 RMB a bottle, their beer was surprisingly good, reminiscent of a crisp white ale.

Let me tell you, everyone should make a pit stop at the so-called drug lord beauty parlor. Whether or not you get a haircut is beside the point; this bar is absolutely worth your time. Sit outside, let your feet dangle over the slope, and take in the breathtaking starry night across the hills, the sound of motorcycles and minibuses weaving up and down the steep inclines—it’s unforgettable.

🌟 Just steps away lies the infamous Monumento a Pablo Escobar. There, I met a lively local who enthusiastically hopped into my photo frame, and we snapped a quick picture together.

🌟 Further along, you’ll find unassuming local eateries, corner stores, and regular hair salons. I treated myself to a 10,000 peso (17 RMB) haircut, and it turned out surprisingly well!

🌟 For the first time ever, I used the international version of Didi, linked my credit card, and hailed a ride. Smooth sailing! The city’s layout—with its dramatic slopes and winding roads—is even more “extreme” than Chongqing. On our rainy drive back to the hotel, we encountered a driver who exuded charm: strong cologne, impeccable driving skills, a killer playlist, and striking good looks to boot.
