I spent 14 hours in the air to reach Kenya, and this journey was nothing short of emotional and surprising. As our vehicle approached Amboseli, the clouds parted like a curtain, revealing the majestic snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. Beneath its grandeur, giraffes were gracefully strolling, accidentally wandering into my camera lens. At that moment, I was so deeply moved that tears welled up in my eyes 😥.

During the trip, I shared live photos on my phone, and to my delight, they garnered countless likes from fellow travel enthusiasts. Below, I’d like to share a guide on “How an Ordinary Person Can Travel to Kenya, Africa”:

[About Transportation] ✈️
▫️ By Air: From Chengdu to Kuala Lumpur to Nairobi (with a one-day transit on AirAsia where you can explore the city for food and drinks. There’s also a direct flight from Changsha to Nairobi, lasting 11 hours).
▫️ Round-trip costs range from 5k to 20k RMB (depending on timing, cabin type, and layover duration—it’s all about personal preference, so keep an eye on prices).

▫️ For internal travel between Nairobi, Maasai Mara, and Amboseli, it’s all covered by the Safari off-road vehicles, making it incredibly convenient.

[About Safari] 🚙
Cost: A 6-day, 5-night safari costs around 1350 USD (during the low season).
Itinerary: Nairobi – Maasai Mara National Park – Naivasha – Amboseli – Return to Nairobi. After our safari, we extended the adventure with a 4-day, 3-night stay at Diani Beach in Mombasa (which I’ll share more about later).
Accommodation & Meals: Five nights at luxurious resort hotels with all meals included—Mara Maisha Camp, Naivasha Sopa Resort, and Amboseli Sopa Resort.

[About the Rainy Season] ☔️
Advantages: Pleasant temperatures, lush greenery, virtually no sandstorms, better value for money, and fewer tourists.
Disadvantages: Fewer animal sightings (though I found it sufficient), occasional rain and cloudy skies (but rarely all day long).
