April 10, 2024. After three long days of waiting, the weather finally cleared up, and we were greeted with a beautiful, sunny day. We set off by car at seven in the morning, eager to hike to the majestic Torres del Paine. The early morning light bathed everything in a warm, golden glow as we drove towards the rising sun, our spirits lifted by the promise of a perfect day.
As we neared Torres del Paine, the breathtaking sight of the three iconic towers came into view from a distance. In the previous two days, the towers had been shrouded in mist and completely hidden from sight. I had driven this same road several times before, always wondering where the famous towers were, but today they stood out clearly against the bright blue sky, a stunning reward for our patience.
