Nestled between the mountains and the sea, just over an hour’s drive from the capital, Santiago, Valparaíso is an absolute gem that will delight any traveler. It’s the only city in Chile I believe is truly worth a detailed exploration on this trip. While the essence of Chile is found in its countryside and wild landscapes, Valparaíso stands out as a unique and captivating exception.
I even find myself regretting not spending a night here instead of in Santiago, as the vibrant streets and stunning views of Valparaíso offer an experience that is both enchanting and unforgettable.
I totally agree about Valparaíso being a must-visit! The street art and colorful hills are incredible, and staying overnight would be magical. Spring seems like the perfect time to explore with all the festivals and affordable activities mentioned.
