In December, I’ll be heading to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil—a vibrant country located in both South America and Latin America. While travelers used to need proof of yellow fever vaccination, this requirement has been lifted. However, with the summer bringing out hordes of mosquitoes, it’s still wise to get vaccinated for your own protection. Plus, one shot offers immunity for a full decade—talk about convenience!

**[Adorable R] How to Schedule Your Appointment:**
If you’re in Shanghai, simply access the official account of the Shanghai International Travel Health Center to register and book your appointment online. Fill in your personal details—it’s much simpler now compared to the old days when people had to rush to grab a spot. Just remember, the vaccination must be completed at least 10 days before your trip.

Once your appointment is set, gather the following documents: your passport or ID card, flight ticket, a two-inch color photo, and the vaccination application form (refer to Figure 3). Good news for those in Shanghai: the Jin Qiao center provides the forms on-site, so no need to print anything ahead of time.

Arrive punctually, and if the crowd is light, you can proceed directly to fill out the forms, register, and receive your vaccination. The entire process typically takes around 50 minutes, after which you’ll walk away with your iconic little yellow booklet.

⚠️ **Bonus Tip:** While getting vaccinated, consider requesting cholera medication. Though not mandatory for Brazil, it’s a smart precaution if you have a sensitive stomach. Additionally, given Brazil’s mosquito population, you might want to pick up some specialized repellent cream there—see Figure 1, reputedly military-grade and highly effective.

**Important Reminders:**
1️⃣ Avoid scheduling your vaccination during menstruation or if you have a cold!
2️⃣ After taking the oral cholera vaccine, refrain from drinking water for at least an hour.
3️⃣ For three days post-vaccination, steer clear of intense physical activity, spicy foods, and immediate bathing to ensure optimal results.

Stay safe and enjoy your journey to Brazil!
