Explore Rio de Janeiro’s Morro Dois Irmãos Hiking Trails in Brazil

😍👏Morro Dois Irmãos is undoubtedly one of the most breathtaking spots in Rio de Janeiro, and I’ve heard it’s an incredible place to catch the sunrise. However, due to time constraints (I’d have had to leave at 5 am ⏰, but getting up that early just wasn’t happening 😴), I decided to visit after lunch instead. Trust me—it’s a must-see destination! 🏞️🌅

🌟 **Getting There:** Start by taking a bus or taxi to Vidigal. As soon as you step out, you’ll notice plenty of motorcycle drivers waving and beckoning to you. For just 5 reais (about 7.5 RMB), you can hop on for a thrilling 10-minute ride straight to the trailhead. If you’re feeling adventurous 🏃‍♂️, you could always opt to walk uphill—but beware, the slope is steep and might leave you gasping for breath.

Personally, I highly recommend the motorcycle option. The journey takes you through a favela, offering a glimpse into the authentic heart of Rio de Janeiro 🛵🌆.

🌟 **Entrance Fee:** Once you reach the start of the hiking trail, someone will approach to collect the entrance fee—10 reais (about 15 RMB) per person.

🌟 **Hiking Time:** Depending on your fitness level and pace, the climb typically takes between 40 to 60 minutes 🚶🚶‍♀️.

🌟 **Trail Details:** The path up the mountain is straightforward, so there’s no risk of getting lost. Compared to Praia da Gávea (which I’ll cover in my next post), this hike is far less challenging.

🌟 **What to Bring:** Be sure to carry cash, water, sunscreen, and insect repellent. Avoid wearing flip-flops or sandals—they’re not ideal for this kind of terrain 🚫.

Once you reach the summit of Morro Dois Irmãos, prepare to be awestruck by the stunning panorama. In the distance, you’ll spot a heart-shaped lake, while to the right lies the iconic Ipanema Beach—absolutely breathtaking! And if that weren’t enough, you can also admire the majestic Christ the Redeemer statue from afar (check out photo 3)‼️🌅📸.

The motorcycle ride up is nothing short of exhilarating—they drive at lightning speed, and I clung to the driver’s waist the entire time without letting go once. On my way down, I chose to walk, which was equally rewarding. When passing through the favela, remember to respect the privacy of the local residents by refraining from taking photos or videos (though you can capture a panoramic shot of the favela from atop the mountain—see photo 2).

If you ever find yourself in Rio, don’t miss out on this unforgettable experience! ✌️✌️✌️
