Very important❗: After 10:00 AM, it’s best to avoid heading up the mountain, as the heat can be unbearable. Be sure to reach the mountain top parking lot by 9:00 AM at the latest. If you’re planning to climb, start early—around 8:30 AM—or wait until after 4:00 PM when the sun begins to set. Staying under the scorching sun between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM can easily lead to heatstroke. If you’re traveling with elders, make sure to plan your timing carefully for their comfort and safety.
Travel🚗: For those not driving themselves, take a train to Lianjiang Station, where round-trip shuttles are available to Qida Village for just 20 RMB per person. Be sure to confirm pick-up and drop-off details directly with the driver—it’s a smooth ride that takes about an hour and a half. From the base of the mountain to the summit, climbing will take roughly 50 minutes on foot.
Alternatively, you can opt for a motorcycle or car ride halfway up for 20 RMB per person (highly recommended, especially in summer when the heat is intense). If you’re driving, you can go straight to the halfway point, leaving only a quick 15-minute stroll to the top.
Food and Clothing👕: Don’t forget to wear sun-protective clothing and bring along an umbrella to shield yourself from the intense rays. Physical sun protection is absolutely essential! On the mountain, water is available for purchase, but no food is sold—fortunately, prices are reasonable and won’t break the bank. It’s wise to bring some snacks or dry rations with you; two hours of exploring the mountain is usually more than enough time to enjoy the experience.
