Day
San Martin de los Andes – Bariloche

Today, I embarked on a scenic boat trip across the lake in San Martin. We set sail at 12 PM and returned to the dock by 7 PM. Before the adventure, I spent the morning exploring the charming town, capturing its essence through my lens.

The boat journey was a delightful exploration of four captivating spots. First, we visited Quila Quina, a picturesque location that evokes the surreal landscapes of Dali. Next, we hiked 4 kilometers to the enchanting Chachin Waterfall. The trail, with a 100-meter ascent, was lined with towering trees, making the final view of the waterfall feel like a magical revelation.

Our third stop was a deep journey from Lago Lácar to the far end of Lago Nonthue, where we enjoyed a blissful half-hour basking in the sun at Hosteria Hua Hum. Finally, we stopped at Isla Santa Teresifa, home to a quaint little church that added a touch of serenity to our day.

The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the hike to the Chachin Waterfall. Despite the modest size of the waterfall and the relatively easy trail, the dense forest and the sense of discovery made it an unforgettable experience. The moment we reached the waterfall, it felt as if we had found a hidden gem, a reward for our efforts.

With the day’s adventures behind us, we grabbed a quick burger near San Martin Square. To our delight, we stumbled upon a lively local carnival, with people dancing and singing in front of the San Martin statue. It was a perfect blend of nature and culture, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to cap off the day.

In the evening, we drove back to Bariloche, where the night sky offered a breathtaking view of the Milky Way. We were so captivated that we kept taking photos until 1 AM, savoring every moment before finally heading back to our accommodation.

TIPS
There are two boat trip options: one that only visits Quila Quina, and another that includes four scenic spots. We opted for the latter, which allowed us to experience a variety of beautiful locations. Quila Quina, in particular, is a serene spot where you can relax and soak up the sun.
While there isn’t a specific second tip, traveling with a group can enhance the experience, and there’s nothing particularly critical to note. Just enjoy the journey and the company!
