Hello everyone! 👋🏻

🥟 Meat empanadas / Fried Beef Dumplings

📌 Ingredients:

– 1 onion
– 1 bell pepper
– 3 hard-boiled eggs
– Pitted green olives 🫒 (as many as you like)
– Salt, sweet paprika, and empanada seasoning

Check out the pictures for a visual guide on the preparation steps! 👀
This time around, I’m using store-bought empanada wrappers to keep things simple.
(I’ll share my secret recipe for homemade Argentine empanada wrappers in a future video [wink R])
⚠️ Stay tuned for the next video, where I’ll show you the art of folding the edges of the empanadas.

While beef is a popular choice, the filling for large empanadas can be as versatile as your imagination. Common alternatives include chicken, ham and cheese, canned fish, and corn.
And if frying isn’t your thing, these empanadas can also be baked to golden perfection in the oven.
⚠️ For those in China, you can find the empanada seasoning on 🛍️
Empanada seasoning ingredients: (add each to taste)
– Sweet paprika
– Oregano
– Nutmeg powder
– Cumin powder
– Chili powder (mild)
– Black pepper

Don’t worry too much about the “as needed” part [sweating R]—just trust your taste buds and adjust as you go.
For the oven-baked version, I recommend brushing a thin layer of egg wash over the empanadas before baking at 190-205°C for about 20 minutes (keep an eye on them to ensure they don’t over-brown). They’re ready when they turn a beautiful golden color (the filling is already cooked, so no need to worry about that).

Happy cooking, and enjoy your delicious empanadas!

These empanadas sound amazing! I love how they include hard-boiled eggs and olives—that adds such a unique flavor. I can’t wait to try making them myself this weekend!
