Kino Mountain Rainforest Hike: A Scenic yet Challenging Escape Route

As depicted in Figure 1, no one will ever be entirely honest with you [Sigh R].
⏰ We were supposed to meet at 8:15 AM.
👉 But we didn’t arrive until around 9:20 (by then, it had started raining as we approached the trailhead), and yet they still insisted we proceed!
[Angry R] Cue the complaints‼️

① The weather forecast clearly indicated that the rain would stop by noon, but they still pushed us to go ahead. The downpour was relentless (Figures 2/3/4). Some people’s brand-new rain boots filled up with water, while I, thanks to the rain shoe covers I’d purchased for my Yubeng trip (Figures 1 & 7), stayed completely dry the entire time [Praise R].

② When we passed the first swing, our guide declared it too dangerous and off-limits. However, upon closer inspection, we noticed others still playing on it. Indeed, it was pouring heavily as we walked by. Our small group of six, prioritizing safety, decided not to take any risks and skipped the swing altogether.

③ The much-anticipated bamboo raft experience (Figure 5) turned out to be disappointingly short—only about 100 meters? As shown in Figure 5, that’s the farthest point you can reach. Naturally, I opted not to participate [Facepalm R].

④ At the swing depicted in Figure 6, the guide once again claimed it was unsafe and closed, advising us to move along. Personally, I thought it wasn’t a big deal and kept glancing back curiously. A little later, another team’s guide retrieved the equipment. Had we left earlier, we might have missed out on this activity entirely [Pity R].

⑤ Figure 7 showcases the famed tree-climbing segment 🧗—an activity we were explicitly prohibited from doing due to its alleged danger… [Embarrassed R].

⑥ Figure 9 reveals the lunch prepared for our group of six. Frankly, it was just average; the meat tasted like pre-packaged dishes…

⑦ We observed other teams adorned with face paint, but our guide informed us we’d already passed the designated spot. During our meal, I suggested using the rocks nearby instead. Eventually, after archery (Figure 12) 🏹, the guide agreed we could do it on our way back. It was my persistence that led to the delightful moment captured in Figure 13 [Crying R].

Additionally, Figure 15 highlights the local rubber trees—an essential part of the region’s industry—and Figure 16 features a snake. In my opinion, this “snake” is more of an “actor,” as every guide seems to know exactly where it resides [Doge].

We booked through a certain platform for 270r per person. That day, the heavy rain meant shelling out an extra 10r for a raincoat and 35r for rain boots…
The total trekking distance was only about 4km. While the rainforest was picturesque, it simply wasn’t worth the price tag, nor did it deliver much emotional value. Some activities even required us to fight for them… Exhausting [Sigh R].
