🚗 Renting a car in Egypt with inDrive is incredibly convenient, especially for group travel. It’s both affordable and stress-free! If you’ve read my usual travel notes, you’ll know they’re often geared toward solo travelers or those accustomed to public transportation. But for groups, renting a car, taking taxis, and splitting the costs in Egypt is a highly practical choice.

✈️ While it’s possible to arrange a car rental through a hotel owner, hailing a car on the street, or even contacting a driver via platforms like Little Red Book, bypassing a reliable platform can lead to unexpected issues. For instance, a driver might raise the price at the last minute after agreeing on a rate the previous day.

Using inDrive provides an added layer of security, making the process smoother and more worry-free. Many of the problematic car rental experiences shared by friends often stem from private arrangements made without using a trusted platform, leaving them without proper guarantees.

⚠️⚠️ How to download inDrive:
If you have an iPhone, you’ll need to use a foreign phone number to register for the Apple App Store to access inDrive. With a Chinese Apple ID, the app won’t appear in the store. You can use an Egyptian phone number to create a new App Store account. Alternatively, if you’re using an iPhone, you can find a foreign Apple ID on certain online marketplaces and follow the instructions to log in and search for inDrive.

Additionally, you may want to download WhatsApp for receiving messages. Another option is waiting until you arrive in Egypt and borrowing someone’s App Store login to install the app—this is what I did.
