As I was studying the navigation map, I realized I couldn’t locate the bus that would take me to the foot of the mountain. Just then, a passerby noticed my confusion and kindly approached me to offer directions. With renewed confidence, I decided to walk to the base of the mountain. Once there, I purchased a round-trip cable car ticket from the counter and began my ascent.
When I finally reached the summit, the thin air left me slightly out of breath—this place truly sits at an impressive altitude! Initially, I had planned to enjoy the sunset, but Mother Nature had other plans as rain began to drizzle. On my way back down, I opted for a different tunnel with the cable car, offering two distinct yet thrilling experiences.
At the bottom, I located the bus stop and hopped on a ride back to the city center. Due to the crowd, I couldn’t board from the front and only managed to swipe my bus card upon exiting. As I gestured to the driver about my card, he smiled, gave me a friendly thumbs-up, and drove off [smile].
So far, Colombia has captured my heart as my favorite destination on this journey. The city brims with fascinating sights and activities, while the locals exude warmth and friendliness. From the moment I stepped off the plane, strangers have gone out of their way to assist me. Beyond the affordable prices, the food here is nothing short of delicious—a perfect blend of hospitality and culture!
