The self-driving adventure along Turkey’s D400 highway came to an end yesterday. We had originally thought that a 300km journey, spread over three days, would be more than enough time to explore.

But guess what?
Each stop left us wishing we could linger for an entire week!
.
👇In this post, we’ll take you through the breathtaking points of interest along the D400 highway.
✅And in our next post, we’ll dive into practical tips and guides for renting a car and embarking on your own self-driving journey.

🗺️Our 3-day, 2-night route:
Antalya ➡️ Side Ancient City ➡️ Kas Town ➡️ Fethiye

.
1️⃣ Side (P15-16)
▪️Temple of Apollo: Picture ancient Greek ruins perched right by the sea—a sight so mesmerizing it feels almost surreal!
▪️Side Ancient City: A treasure trove of ancient theaters and city ruins, with views of the seaside that are simply spellbinding—truly unforgettable!

.
2️⃣ Antalya (P3-5)
▪️Kaleiçi Old Town: The calm morning vibes here were unmatched, and the locals made us feel right at home with their warm invitations for tea.
▪️Hadrian’s Gate: Step back in time as you marvel at this majestic Roman-era triumphal arch.
▪️Roman Harbor: As the sun sets, the harbor transforms into a serene haven where singing, fishing, and leisurely strolls blend seamlessly into the tranquil atmosphere.

▪️Aspendos Ancient Theater: Known as one of the world’s best-preserved—and still operational—ancient Roman theaters, this is a must-see!

.
3️⃣ Kas (P1-2, 11-14)
▪️Kas Town: Nestled by the Mediterranean, life here moves at a slower pace, and every winding path seems to lead straight to the sea—each one more stunning than the last!
▪️Andifelis Ancient Theater: Another seaside gem, this theater was blissfully quiet in the morning, offering a peaceful escape from the crowds.
▪️Kaputas Beach: Perched along the roadside, this cliffside beach feels like something out of a painting—so picturesque that words can barely do it justice.

.
4️⃣ Fethiye (P6-10)
▪️Butterfly Valley Beach: With its crystal-clear waters and enchanting surroundings, this place defies description—words like “jellyfish sea” or “glass sea” don’t even begin to capture its magic!
▪️Ölüdeniz Beach: Famous for its white pebble shoreline and water so clear it resembles transparent blue glass, this beach is nothing short of breathtaking!

.
🐢And finally, the last photo? That’s a little tortoise we met along the way! These charming creatures occasionally pop up along the road between Kas and Ölüdeniz—we spotted two of them during our trip.
