The first stop in Latin America was Cartagena, a vibrant city nestled along the Caribbean coast. This tropical paradise boasts a hot and humid climate, offering an authentic taste of the region. The old town is a mesmerizing blend of Spanish colonial architecture, with colorful houses lining the cobblestone streets.
Women dressed in traditional attire and vendors balancing stacks of hats add to the lively atmosphere. I also had the privilege of visiting the very spot where Gabriel Garcia Marquez would sip coffee and pen his thoughts daily while crafting the masterpiece “Love in the Time of Cholera.” Cartagena is undeniably a city brimming with beauty and romance.
