It all started on a weekend when I was searching for somewhere new to eat. I stumbled upon this place online and noticed that most of the Chinese dishes had been adapted to local tastes. Even so, I decided to take a chance and hopped into a taxi to check it out. Not speaking Spanish, I ended up using plenty of hand gestures with the waiter to communicate—quite the adventure!
Eventually, the waiter summoned the owner, who turned out to be incredibly friendly. We chatted at length, and he shared fascinating stories about hosting the Chinese ambassador to Colombia multiple times. He also mentioned that authentic stir-fried dishes were hard to come by locally. To my surprise, he insisted on cooking for me himself [WowR][WowR][WowR].
When he learned I was from Hubei, he even added some extra chili peppers as a personal touch. The flavors were outstanding—the shrimp were colossal and bursting with flavor, while the fried rice was aromatic and rich, cooked with lard and loaded with generous portions of ingredients [SneakyR][SneakyR].
