From Piazza del Plebiscito to Castel Sant’Elmo, we traveled by car one way and walked back. Let me emphasize—take the car! Seriously, you must take the car. The uphill tram costs only 1.8 euros per ride, and trust me, it’s absolutely worth it. Although the tram journey is entirely through a tunnel with no views, compared to tackling that mountain road on foot, it’s an excellent choice.

The mountain path and stairs are narrow, steep, and slippery, making the climb quite challenging. On my way down, I slipped multiple times, and unfortunately, there isn’t much scenery along the route. The best views? They’re all at the top, overlooking the breathtaking panorama from Castel Sant’Elmo.

In short, this place is definitely worth visiting—absolutely worth it—but do yourself a favor: take the car!
