After a two-hour ride filled with twists and turns from Medellín, I caught my first glimpse of the colossal Guatape Rock, towering over 200 meters into the sky. From afar, its 659 steps resembled delicate stitches sealing the mighty wound of this giant stone sentinel.

As I climbed step by step, my breath grew shorter, but when I finally reached that last step, my effort was rewarded with a breathtaking panorama of emerald-green landscapes. The Guatape Reservoir stretched out before me like a serene mirror, as stunning as China’s Thousand Islands Lake. Its scattered islets floated effortlessly on azure waters, while clouds hung so low they seemed within reach.

This awe-inspiring vista of shimmering lake and majestic mountains made every exhausting step worthwhile.
