Upon arrival, dive into the rich history of the ancient city of Cusco with a guided tour.
We then booked our Machu Picchu adventure with a local travel agency, choosing one at random.
After some friendly haggling, we secured a deal for $220 per person, which was a steal.
This package includes all transportation, Machu Picchu entrance tickets, some meals, and accommodation in Machu Picchu. 🌟
🎈Day 2
Cusco – Ollantaytambo (van)
Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes (train)
The day starts early with a 6:00 AM pickup from the hotel.
Our group, consisting of about 15 people, set off to explore the breathtaking Sacred Valley, including the salt mines and terraces.
Entry fees for these attractions are not included, costing around $300 extra.

The guide picked us up bright and early at 5:35 AM to queue for the bus to the site (a 30-minute ride).
Machu Picchu opens at 7:00 AM, and here’s a key tip: ❗️Choose Circle 2❗️ Confirm this when booking your tour.
Circle 2 offers the best of both worlds: a panoramic view of Machu Picchu and access to the site itself, all for a similar price to Circles 1, 3, and 4, around $300.
The 2-3 hour tour concludes around 11:00 AM ⏰
Train back to Ollantaytambo (12:30 PM train) 🚂
A van will be waiting at the Ollantaytambo train station to take us back to Cusco, arriving around 4:30 PM.
