Discovering Cordoba: An Unforgettable Spanish Travelogue Experience

Madrid & Cordoba 9.28
✨ Hello, everyone!
Today, I’m here to share with you my Day 3 from Madrid to Cordoba~
🎈 [The Wonders of Madrid]
I originally planned to visit the Sunday market El Rastro, which was Sanmao’s favorite,
but I miscalculated the time and left on a Saturday instead of a Sunday, so it wasn’t open 😭.

In the morning, I strolled around the nearby Retiro Park,
where there were many people jogging and walking their dogs 😜.
For someone like me who only walked three steps the day before, it really wasn’t necessary,
and I suggest that if you’re not going to run, there’s no need to go out of your way to visit; it’s just a very large park 🏒.

I took a nap at noon, and in the afternoon, because the Airbnb couldn’t store luggage, and the storage lockers near the station cost 19 euros per day, which was too expensive 😱!
Apart from not visiting the last corner of the Golden Triangle of Art – the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum,
there was nothing else to do, so I just ate, rested, and waited for the train 😅.

There’s also a small area inside the train station that feels like a tropical botanical garden 😃.
🎈 [The Even More Wondrous Cordoba]
After a convenient 2-hour high-speed train ride, I arrived in Cordoba 😁.
Since I had to take the train to Seville the next day, I stayed at an Airbnb just 5 minutes from the high-speed train station.

The actual room was even cuter than the pictures, and I loved it so much 🥰!
There was also a local girl who helped open the door,
recommended good food and drinks, and could store luggage.
If you’re traveling by high-speed train, I strongly recommend staying here 😘!
A 20-minute walk brought me to the old town, which is also a World Heritage site.

I strolled all the way to the Great Mosque and then wanted to see the sunset at the Roman Bridge 🌇.
On the bridge, an elderly Spanish man complimented me on my beautiful face,
Wow, I instantly fell in love with the warm and welcoming Cordoba 😍!
On the other side of the Roman Bridge, there’s a tower, and since I had nothing else to do, I went up to watch the sunset 👀.

The ticket seller insisted I was a student, but I said I wasn’t. He still insisted and gave me a cheaper student ticket, haha,
the people of Cordoba are truly genuine and simple, and I like it even more here 😍😍!
🎈 [Culinary Experience]
I heard that Cordoba is a city of delicious food, so in the evening, I went to a great restaurant and tried some very local Andalusian cuisine,
which tasted very Spanish, as you can see in the pictures 😜~
You must try the national drink of Spain – Sangria,
it’s so good that it goes straight to your head 😇😇.

After dinner at 9:30 PM, I went out and unexpectedly encountered a marathon, with many runners and people cheering on the sidelines. The Spanish people are really enthusiastic and lively 🎉!

I totally get that disappointment about missing El Rastro—it’s such a unique experience. The Retiro Park sounds lovely though, especially seeing people enjoying it just like locals do! I’d love to know more about your Cordoba adventures next—any must-see spots?

Absolutely! If you’re looking for more hidden gems in Córdoba, make sure to visit the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos and the Mezquita-Catedral. Both offer incredible insights into the city’s rich history. And yes, exploring local markets or trying authentic tapas off the beaten path can be just as rewarding as the big attractions! Thanks for your comment—I hope you enjoy these tips.
