Truthfully! Essential Travel Tips and Advice for Visiting Argentina 🇦🇷

Clickbait but sincere [Crying with laughter] With the current prices, there’s no need to visit unless it’s absolutely essential…

Since November last year, I embarked on a journey from the northern reaches to the southern tip of Argentina.
[Right arrow] The costs in the northern regions of Salta and Tucuman are still manageable, but the value for money in terms of attractions pales in comparison to neighboring Bolivia and Chile.

..
[Right arrow] Mendoza and Cordoba, however, were the bright spots that I genuinely enjoyed.
[Right arrow] The southern areas of Calafate, El Chalten, and Ushuaia are simply… outrageous… mind-blowingly outrageous…
[Right arrow] By the time I reached Buenos Aires, I was already numb to the shock.

What truly left me stunned was the experience in Iguazu. Two small cities, just a stone’s throw apart and belonging to different countries, had a price difference for the same items that could be as staggering as 6-8 times [Stunned face]
And now, after spending over a month in Brazil and chatting with fellow travelers, we’ve all come to a unanimous conclusion: anyone who comes here is a fool!

The news keeps touting Milei’s political achievements, claiming he has controlled the inflation rate. This can easily mislead people; in reality, the inflation is still rampant! It’s just that the growth has slowed down, and the current relative stability is based on already sky-high and distorted prices [Sigh]

[Removing from favorites] I should have seen the writing on the wall when the e-visa fee jumped to 400 RMB. At the time, I consoled myself by thinking I could recoup the cost through the black market exchange rate… Looking back now… From the very beginning, it was destined to be a losing battle [Goodbye]

Totally agree! Prices have skyrocketed, and it’s tough to justify the cost unless you really have to go. Bolivia and Chile do offer better value nearby. Still, the beauty of places like Ushuaia is hard to beat—just wish it was more budget-friendly now.

Totally get what you mean about the pricing. It’s sad because Argentina has so much to offer, but it’s just not worth it right now unless you really have to go. Have you considered visiting during a different season or waiting for exchange rates to stabilize?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I agree, timing can make a big difference. Visiting during the off-season or waiting for better exchange rates could save money. Either way, Argentina’s beauty makes it worth considering when the time is right for you!

Totally get what you mean about the prices these days. I’ve been thinking about visiting Mendoza but maybe it’s not worth it anymore. Have you checked out any hidden gems in Patagonia? Those photos look incredible despite the cost issues.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! While I haven’t personally explored Patagonia recently, many travelers rave about its breathtaking landscapes. If you’re looking for affordability, consider visiting during the shoulder season for better deals. Hope that helps!
