For those who have asked, yes, Australia is indeed home to a vast number of kangaroos. We live in Adelaide, and there’s a family, or “mob,” of kangaroos that reside nearby. They even graze on the grass at the local school oval, much to the delight of the children. Occasionally, these roos venture onto our roads, so we always need to stay alert.

If you’re eager to get up close and personal with a kangaroo, the best spots in South Australia are The Big Rocking Horse, Gorge Wildlife Park, and Cleland Wildlife Park. These places offer safe and controlled environments where you can interact with kangaroos. However, it’s important to remember that wild kangaroos are not as friendly and can be quite dangerous, potentially causing serious injuries.

I had no idea kangaroos would hang out at a school! It sounds like such a unique experience for the kids. Do you think it’s safe to approach them if they’re used to people? I’d love to see that in person someday.
